The Colbert Report, The Daily Show!

Just finished watching the daily show and the colbert report from this past Thursday, July 28. The daily show had john oliver dressed up as the dodd frank bill, now a law, from a year ago. The bit was not only funny but informative on how congress can pass a bill but leave it 'sterile' from day one. Also, john talks about how the first responders can't get treated for cancer unless its clearly caused by being exposed to the 9/11 WTC rubble. I hope drs just treat them for cancer but call it whatever it takes to get them treated!
The Colbert Report just outright made me laugh or what some of my close friends call it 'cackle!' Its been one of the funniest shows I have seen in a long time. On a positive note, ColbertSuperPac is now receiving suggestions on what it should stand for. Depending on the results, I'll be making mine, will determine if I donate or not.
Recomend everyone take the time to watch the shows either from the comedy central website or through hulu.com.
Enjoy the weekend!

Gay, Fat and Guaranteed to Fail!

The Daily Show from Wednesday was especially funny! The gays are barbarians and need to be disciplined. Jerry Seinfeld makes a guest appearance. The Baconator Double Meal from Wendy's should probably kill you or satisfy your caloric intake for the whole day and Freddie Mac & Fannie Mae are Guaranteed to Fail. Once again I am helping the private sector be more profitable!!!

Render Unto Caesar... Unless You Are News Corp!

This morning I found out I need to incorporate. Maybe I can get the US Government to pay me too! Heard it first on Morning Edition from NPR and then read the article on Reuters by David Cay Johnston about News Corp getting paid by the US Gov't instead of paying the US Gov't.

Blood and Treasure!

Just finished listening to the no agenda show podcast. Adam finds out where our blood and treasure mime comes from. The government releases how it feels about marijuana and its 'negative' effects. Its always great to get the unscripted news or as the call it, the mainstream media assassination, from people who aren't sponsored by anyone but their listeners. Its two hours long but well worth it!

Marcellus Shale - Game Changer - This American Life

Game Changer - This American Life - Another great podcast! Its interesting how telling the truth can earn you enemies, even more so when there's money to be had! Hey if your nose bleeds, you can't remember things very well and you see golden algae(algae that grows in salty waters) be happy because somebody fracking PA's natural gas reserves, living somewhere very far away and getting rich while you get sick!
Here's a link to Marcellus Shale and what it exactly is.

The Dinner Party Download - Shepard Fairey

Episode 104: Shepard Fairey, Menu Mania, and Sliced Bread

Very interesting to find out Shepard Fairey is from Charleston, SC, where I currently live, and that his father told him to stop buying stickers and placing them on other peoples property!!!

Planet Money Podcast on Crazy Eddie

Inside The Mind Of A Financial Criminal - How to lie, cheat and steal like a pro. The best part is the end of the podcast when they ask Sam Antar if he's sorry or not.
Planet Money Podcast is a podcast which explains economic issues so the average person can understand it.

The Corporation

The Corporation -Today I watched this movie/documentary and there was a quick reference to Ilo, Peru. I lived there and saw the smoke produced from the refinery, saw its effects on the local agriculture and the effects on locals well being. There's nothing like a fresh burning sensation in throat from the smog. You can watch this on Netflix if you have instant streaming.

Friendship

Friendship may be shortly defined, a perfect conformity of opinions upon all religious and civil subjects, united with the highest degree of mutual esteem and affection.
Virtue is at once both the parent and the support of friendship. (Virtue the attainable degree of moral merit ... exemplified in actual practice.
Wealth is pursued for the particular uses to which it is solely applicable; power, in order to receive worship; honours, for the sake of fame; sensual indulgences, on account of the gratifications that attend them; and health, as he means of living exempt from pain and possessing the unobstructed exercise of all our corporeal faculties. Whereas friendship is adapted by its nature to an infinite number of different ends; accommodates itself to all circumstances and situations of human life; and can at no season prove either unfuitable or inconvenient.

Customer missed trash can...

Today at work I was changing out the trash bags in the 3 different trash cans we have. One of the customers who I find to be cute was literally beside me at the condiment bar as I changed out the bags. As she added sugar in the raw to her drink I made the standard small talk just to make her visit a bit more enjoyable than the 'in and out' it always is for her. She is always in a rush and always on the phone. Distracted and not paying attention she threw the sugar in the raw wrapper in the condiment bar hole where there was no trash can to receive it. She, just like any other person, said she was sorry. I responded not to worry. Really because in the grand scheme of things it is no big deal and those types of mishaps very rarely bother me. So as I bent down to pick up the raw sugar wrapper I thought to myself but didn't say it aloud, given that a good friend of mine was in line right there and we had been carrying on up until the customer approached and I knew she would laugh, was I would be so lucky to be able to pick up your trash for the rest of my life!
